About Tour/Trip Management
Using CBoatOps, you can manage your tour portfolio and the trips that are ultimately carried out per tour.
A Tour is defined as a ‘template’ from which you derive your trips or journeys. Tours are defined in your portfolio and can be published to various various third-party booking agents such as TripAdvisor, Viator, Get My Guide adn others. You define your tour and options in one place and push to your agents rather than having to update each agent’s distribution channel.
Trips are the actual execution of a Tour on a given date/time, using a specific vessel and crew. Trip data collected feeds back into your operational data but can also provide feedback to third-party booking agents for the purposes of quality control, billing and attendance.
Tour Information
When you define a tour, you’ll add data fields such as…
- Tour Name and Description
- Tour Options – Inclusions, Exclusions, What to Bring, etc
- Departure Time, Duration and Itinerary
- Tour Availability and Pricing
- Third party Agents who offer the tour
- Default Staffing and Resources (based on the Vessel used)
Trip Information
On receiving a reservation for a given Tour, CBoatOps can be used to schedule a new Trip. New trips use the Tour template to generate various default options for the Trip (vessel schedule, crew and resource requirements). Once a Trip is generated you can begin to schedule all the resources you will need to carry out the journey…
- Assign a vessel
- Schedule and allocate Crew
- Allocate resources (Drinks, Food, equipment, etc)
- Passenger registration and Confirmations
After a Trip is complete, a Trip Report is generated containing information such as…
- Was the trip completed successfully or cancelled due to no-shows, inclement weather, equipment failure or other.
- Vessel Metrics
- Vessel, Crew and Passenger Reports
- Any incident reports resulting from the trip
Trip Reports
All Trip Reports can be consolidated using various criteria (Vessel, Tour, Crew Member(s), Date Range, etc) over time.
Trip Reports serve several vital functions including…
- Your crew can record any significant maintenance issue arising before, during and after a tour.
- Crew or Passenger incident reporting – for example, in the case of onboard injuries or medical emergencies.
- Trip Cost and Revenue projections help you make important financial decisions on your operational performance.
